Andrew Koss - Owner
A New York Native, Andrew is the founder of Tainted Blue. Before, Tainted Blue, Andrew's first studio was a home built studio in Boston. He sharpened his skills in that space while working with artists in various ranges of musical genres from Pop to Metal.
Andrew grew frustrated by the limitations of the more traditional production studio, and stifled by the constrictions in a major public recording facility. Andrew later built Tainted Blue to be his dream working space, one that was not bounded by the restrictions of major recording studios. It is a place where the comfortable environment inspires creativity and the vision of blending the best of analog and digital worlds can flourish.
Andrew attended the Berklee College Of Music in Boston, MA where he holds a dual BA in Song Writing and Music Synthesis (music technology).
Patrick Shaw - Producer
Producer/Composer/Songwriter/Bassist Patrick Shaw has worked with artists signed with Universal, Geffen, Arista, Epic, Blue Note and several smaller labels on music as various as pop, jazz, metal, hip hop and folk. Currently Patrick is half the founding team at Tainted Blue where he continues to produce artists as well as work on his own projects. Patrick directs Tainted Blue’s “Artist Loft” series which is New York’s hippest underground indie music event.
Patrick is a trained Classical Bass player and Composer, starting gigging as a Jazz bass player while in high school and has done just about every type of music job there is from arranging to engraving to teaching and gigging. Bachelors in Bass and Composition from UCSD where he studied with Bert Turetzky, Roger Renyolds and Brian Ferneyhough. Masters in Jazz Arranging and Composing from UMass Amherst.
Ali Hassan - Engineer
After cutting his teeth in the music industry performing with rock and punk bands, Ali decided to make his career on the other side of the glass. Three days after graduating from Full Sail he landed himself a gig at Quad Studios in New York City. Not long after would he meet the owners of Tainted Blue, Andrew Koss and Patrick Shaw.
It is here at Tainted Blue that Ali has come into his own. His personal music collection ranges from Rock to Hip-Hop, Metal to Country. Ali's client list reflects this as well and shows his diversity and knowledge of not only the recording process, but also of the specifics that each genre demands.
Louis Follo - Intern
Hailing from small town Wolcott, CT, Louis Follo is Tainted Blue's assistant/engineer/intern. In his high school years, Louie invested most of his time recording local bands in his home built project-studio. He made the decision to convert his passion/hobby into a career path while attending Full Sail Real World Education in Orlando, Florida. There he received an Associate Degree in Recording Arts and a Bachelor Degree in Entertainment Business.
Through hard work and dedication, he remains focused on mastering the creative, technical and business aspects of the Entertainment Industry.Louis continues his education as a part time student at NYU and as a member of the Tainted Blue team.
